WebTo be clear here, I think what the guide is implying is that allowing the babies to hatch lets you easily identify which eggs are the "traps" and which are harvestable. Leading the spawns away lets you safely kill them without accidentally destroying the harvestable ones. This is how it worked in Fallout 4, anyway.
