Seems buckets disappeared from full size American cars sometime in the late ’60s. You couldn’t get a bucket seat DeVille in 1969 but you could in 1962, as evidenced by my ’62 Cadillac convertible project pictured below. IMO, you could disable the release on a later seat, use 66 upholstery and a repro back (no hole) and no one should know (or really care)... Probably cheaper and easier than searching for a "true" 66 Chevelle bucket seat.

I am planning on installing some in a 54 Buick mild custom/hot rod. I want to maintain the character of the original 2 door bench seats.
